Development log...

The PopAccess program was developed while I worked on the helpdesk of an ISP here in New Zealand. I was constantly being asked by customers to remove all the e-mail in their mailbox because they had been warned by the postmaster to reduce it's size. Since most of these large mailboxes contained several hundred(or even several thousand) e-mails, it was impractical to remove them by hand and contacting the webmaster was a waste of time because he was overworked already.

What was needed was an automated way to delete e-mail en-mass. PopAccess and NUKE! were born.

Another problem faced by helpdesk plebs everywhere is when someone receives an e-mail that is simply too large to download on a flaky connection. And since the e-mail would never finish downloading they never knew who sent it or what it was about.
PopAccess allows you to download and view just the headers of an e-mail, which means I was able to tell them who it was from and what the subject was so they could make a decision whether or not they wanted it deleted.

Development of PopAccess ceased some time in 2000 after it's first working version. Not being on the helpdesk any more meant I had no motivation to continue working on it. Should you wish to add features or fix bugs, feel free to download the source and play around. If you think your changes are worthy of publication, let me know and I'll include them here and credit you.

If you don't want to do it yourself, but do need something done, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
